"I want to marry someone just like my daddy."

This quote has been said a million times, a few times directly at me. I believe that this is one of the greatest compliments a father can receive from his daughter. I think about how proud a father must feel when he knows is daughter thinks that highly of him. There is just something about hearing great compliments from the members of your family, it means more than words can ever describe. I hope that I gave enough credit to that quote before I rip it. I believe that this quote is unrealistic. I havn't put much though into this blog, so I'm having to hit it on the fly. I usually have a topic and then think about it, then write. I believe that the amount of love of the father should be given by a husband. I don't fully believe you know a parent like you do a future husband or wife. You don't grow up with your parents. You usually don't have a lot of contact with their former friends. Your grandparents only give you the fluffy versions of them as a kid. You don't see them before they had you. You see them as your parental unit. You see them direct you, love you, care for you. I don't believe you really get to that "level" where you know a parent like you do a husband or wife. I love my family to death, and i don't need anymore confirmation from them except the fact that they love me and that they will always be there for me. I believe that you have to have that in a marriage, but you also have to have a knowledge about that special someone that no one else has. You have to have so much chemistry with that person that you want to spend the rest of your life with them. I hear all these people using this quote, and I know not one person who could stand to live back at their parents hosue for one week. I love the quote and I admire the love that it represents. I don't see it as an in depth concept. I see it as shallow. I think it is more commendable to grow up with your own worldviews, shaped by your upbringing, mature, and develop for yourself what you need in a husband/wife. I don't claim to be an expet on this topic nor any topic. Take the topic, chew on it, and form your own opinions. That is the beauty of intelligence and a free country. I pray that the LORD be with every soldier in harms way. I appreciate all that the military does for our country. FREEDOM IS NOT FREE!

Illegal Immigration & Population Control

Today in sociology we talked about population. We discussed theories on whether the world can hold all of the people that we have? This topic immediatly took me to my favorite topic, illegal immigration. I was @ the Lee County health dept. getting a tb test for Auburn. I went to get my test read and there were two hispanic women with 2 children ahead of me in line. Both of these women are pregnant and both are illegal. How do I know? If you have any intelligence you just know. Some people may or may not know, their children will be LEGAL u.s. citizens when they take their first breath. No wonder they are coming over here and screwing everything that walks. Those kids will grow up and become bilingual. All that spells to me is pure trouble. On top of all that, they are receiving free formula and health care b/c of our tax money. This subject burns me up. There is no way to tell what our population is with the massive amount of illegal immigrants that our country gains everyday. I hope that somehow enough people can raise cain and we can stop all of this bs. America has zero effect on illegal immigration. I say we take all American citizens on disability who can drive and give them buses and as many police officers as they need. Go pick up a bus full of illegals and carry them back where they came from. Give them a credit card and tell them they can eat as much food as they want and drink as much of whatever they want, after work of course. In the end, that wil cost a lot less than illegals having babies, getting healthcare, and going to school on our tax money. I have zero problems with any of the ethnicities of illegals or them as people. I want to treat them humanely, but they have no rights in American b/c they are CRIMINALS and should be treated that way. What can one man do? - half nelson (pretty good movie, a little strange, ryan gosling is great) Joe Rogan is one of the funniest men I have ever heard.

reality television

I am a true fan of reality television. Most of my days are spent trying to figure out how to make life's daily tasks a little easier. This has been infamously named "bearisms." My old boss rich came up with that, b/c I, the genuis that I am, am always looking for an easier way to do things. While looking at easier ways to do things, I like to reflect back on the days when technology wasn't at such a convenience. I talk to my grandfather a lot about his childhood. How things were before phones, a/c, hot water. Before refrigerators they used to use salt to keep meat good. I think that all this is so cool b/c we have found easier ways of doing things with the help of technology. I would like to live in a time where we didn't know about technology to see what life would be like. This brings me to my topic for today. Reality television.......Reality t.v. brings you in contact with people you wouldn't have any contact otherwise. The Bachelor, Newport Harbor, Laguna Beach, Real World are all some of my favorites. We come in contact with these people through the medium of the t.v. I have learned so much about myself through these shows by seeing and learning from other people. I would never have any contact with people from Laguna Beach, California had it not been for MTV. Seeing those people's lives, it makes you realize that I know no one in Birmingham, AL who lives like them. It is almost a completely different culture. I think it is cool to be able to watch and learn as much as you can, whenever you can.

I was just accepted to Auburn University. I'm excited about the next couple of years in my life. It's crazy how I ended up in Auburn. I love the city, but I'll never say War Eagle. ROLL TIDE!!

1st Blog

I have to say that this blog is for chief. Straight from the bottom of caffe latte's heart. Rascal Flatts played at Oak Mountain Amphitheatre last night 10/18. During "He Ain't the Leaving Kind," they brought three marines out during the song. Reading the lyrics will shed more light on this. Gary Levox made the comment, "they aren't the leaving kind either." I loved the message that he sent. All three of those guys came out to the stage one at a time and thanked the crowd and stated how lucky they were to be where they are. It means a lot for arguably one of the most notorious and successful musical groups today be so grateful to their fans and the mlitary. On top of all that, they brought marines out to thank them during their concert. That is a huge statement during a time when democrats do nothing but forget what our military does for us. Whether you agree or disagree with the war, you have to remember that men and women are losing their lives and are away from their families fighting for our freedom. Freedom is not free.

up next..........reality television
